James B. Rutledge III

Jim Rutledge has practiced law for over 30 years. He is a 1986 Honors Graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, and is licensed in Maryland and Georgia.

Jim has represented a wide scope of clients in and out of court including entrepreneurs, fortune 500 companies, private and public school boards, health care professionals, bankers, property owners, small businesses, individuals, attorneys, and farmers. For more than a decade, Jim concentrated on civil and criminal litigation in state and federal courts, handling torts, wrongful death, contracts, divorce, estates, trusts, business, anti-trust, fraud, and complex commercial litigation, as well as substantial work in the civil rights and constitutional law arena. Jim then took that experience and employed it to provide his clients with advice and counsel to plan better and smarter with their assets and in their personal and business lives.

Jim’s practice over the past 20 years has emphasized estate planning, wills, trusts, estate and trust administration, real estate, agricultural, corporate and business law, and related litigation. Jim Rutledge is an advocate for free market capitalism, private property, state sovereignty, Constitutionally-limited federal power, the rule of law, and the defense of our unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
